Printers Buying Guides:

  • Speed: Go for more expensive printers when speed matters to you. Cheap ones only print about 3 pages per minute.
  • Memory: Obviously, the more memory, the better. Go for those that are expandable if you cannot purchase a printer that has higher memory storage.
  • Color: Color printers need ink cartridges that can be costly but you cannot afford to sacrifice quality in your work output, either. Color printers are good for presentation slides, maps, brochures and other similar needs.
  • Resolution: This refers to sharpness of the print on paper. Go for higher resolutions at a minimum of 600 dpi (dot per inch).

Dot per inch (dpi) is the measurement being used for printer’s resolutions.
