Repair and Maintenance of Printers
Business printers like color inkjet printers, color laserjet printers, large format printers/plotters, mobile printers, monochrome laserjet printers and all-in-one printers require thorough cleaning and repair. All printing equipment also need good preventive maintenance—one surefire way is to USE them on a regular basis.
Inkjet cartridges
When changing inkjet cartridges, avoid touching nozzles, openings, and electrical contacts on the new inkjet cartridge.
Printer toner
Printer toner smearing is caused by toner cartridge failure. Replace the toner cartridge with a fresh one.
Printer drivers
When you print a document and unintelligible characters appear or the program crashes, there is a problem with the printer driver. There are three ways out of this hitch: Use another printer driver, get an updated one or alter your format.
Printer ink
When refilling, inject the refill ink very slowly to avoid air bubbles. Do not let the cartridge dry out totally.
Printer parts
When cleaning printer parts, turn off the printer first. Dampen cloth or cotton with water or cleaning fluid. Wipe the exterior of the printer, making sure that no fluid gets inside.
Printer cartridges
When you want to clean printer cartridges, use the cleaning buttons on your printer. Begin cleaning through the printer software. Remember to have your printer cleaned once a year by a professional.
Printer paper
When clearing a printer paper jam, turn the printer off. If needed, take out the toner or ink cartridge. Remove the jammed paper by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly.
